Makipass

MakiPass is a free desktop tool that helps you to store sensitive data in an encrypted file and is entirely written in Java under GPL license.

MakiPass works with a double encryption: the first is represented by an unique instance key generated at application first start, the second is the user master password. Furthermore, MakiPass encrypts the password of every user account with the instance key then uses the master password to encrypt the whole accounts file.

What you can do:

  • Encrypt your personal data – AES encryption
  • Password generator – create secure passwords
  • Keystroke simulation – to avoid Dangerous Keyloggers
  • Process comparison – comparing list of processes currently running
  • Backups – simple backup manager on demand
  • Export data – you can save data in zip or json format
  • Note writer – save text notes

[ NOTE: Java 8 (JavaFX Technology, or alternatives) runtime environment is required in order to run MakiPass. ]
